In the fall of 2002, six area
musicians came together and established a musical enterprise which continues to
this day. The members of The Crowd each come from a rich background, presenting
to you over a century of experience at each performance.
Guitarist Mark Campbell brings with him an undeniable sense of harmony, timing,
and rhythm. Along with his on-target soloing and bottleneck slide technique,
Mark is The Crowd’s musical reference point.
Drummer John Brown is The Crowd’s timekeeper, cheerleader, and foundation. John
injects an incredible energy into his music. Plus, he has what is probably the
best quality in a drummer: a Type “A” personality.
Keyboardist Jeannie Brown is the eternal optimist. Her talents run the gamut
from the exacting precision of the old masters, to the heartfelt tenderness of
Carole King, to the scorching intensity of Deep Purple.
Bassist Al Brown is The Crowd’s musical scholar. His background in Rock, Jazz,
and Classical earns The Crowd a valued versatility and diversity. Music is more
than a hobby to Al, it’s his bread and butter!
Percussionist Dan Shirey completes The Crowd’s rhythm section and brings a sense
of prestige to the group. Dan can easily earn the title “Hardest Working
Musician” because of his tireless performing. Plus, his position allows him to
join the audience on the dance floor.
A band is only as good as the guy running the controls, and The Crowd is very fortunate to have Chris Perra running the lights and sound from time to time. Chris’s vast technical know-how and long time experience with The Crowd have made him an invaluable asset to our group, and a treasured member of our family.
The Crowd has been lucky in the fact that, when Chris is unable to make it to a job, we still manage to keep the audio standards high thanks to the prowess of our friend Donny Lewis. Donny has worked with very big names and brings that know-how with him to keep us sounding great
With a playlist that encompasses almost the entire Rock Era, The Crowd has something for everyone.
